Honouring Art, Powering Movement: FTN Motion x The Arts Foundation of New Zealand

At FTN Motion, we believe in the power of creativity - not just in engineering beautiful electric motorbikes, but in fostering culture, community, and expression. That’s why, for the second year running, we’re proud to partner with the Arts Foundation of New Zealand for their annual fundraising auction.

The Arts Foundation exists to honour extraordinary artists and help them make their mark on the world. It’s the only national arts organisation in Aotearoa that’s 100% powered by generous people from every corner of the country. The annual auction is a cornerstone of that support - a celebration of creativity, generosity, and the spirit of giving.

This year, we’ve created something truly one-of-a-kind: a custom Streetdog, hand-painted in collaboration with one of the Pacific’s most influential artists, Fatu Feu’u.

The Artist: Fatu Feu’u

Fatu Feu’u is a name synonymous with Pacific contemporary art. His work, rich with symbolism and storytelling, explores themes of identity, heritage, and cultural connection. Bringing his vision to one of our Streetdogs is not only an artistic endeavour - it’s a statement.

Collaborating with Fatu has been nothing short of inspiring. His bold use of colour and form brings a new, dynamic energy to the Streetdog - blending traditional Pacific motifs with the sleek, modern lines of our electric motorbike.

Crafting a Rolling Canvas

Each Streetdog is hand-built with care in our New Zealand workshop. We obsess over every detail - from the brushed steel frame to the Streetdog's software - ensuring every ride is not just electric, but exceptional.

This collaboration demanded even more precision. The Streetdog panels became a blank canvas - quite literally - for Fatu to paint directly onto. No decals, no automative paint. Just pure, unfiltered artistry, applied by hand.

Where Engineering Meets Expression

The result is a fully rideable piece of art - a fusion of craftsmanship and culture. Underneath the vibrant paintwork lies our signature electric drivetrain, with regenerative braking and whisper-quiet acceleration.

It’s a reminder that motion and meaning don’t have to be separate. When we build with intention, every ride becomes part of a larger story.

Supporting the Arts, One Ride at a Time

We’re honoured that this custom Streetdog will be part of the Arts Foundation’s 2025 fundraising auction, helping to support artists across Aotearoa. The funds raised will go directly towards enabling more creators - from painters to poets - to pursue their craft and share it with the world.

To those who bid, ride, or simply admire - thank you for supporting art in motion.
