All about the streetdog

How far will the Streetdog take me?

The Streetdog has a range of 80 to 100 km of real-life mixed-city commuting. This may vary depending on the weather, acceleration, and who's driving. The Streetdog 80 will have about 20 km less range.

How much does the Streetdog weigh?

The Streetdog weighs 82 kg. That's 15 kg for the battery, and 67 kg for the bike itself.

What are the dimensions of the Streetdog?

Good question! You can find the specific dimensions and all the measurements here.

How about servicing and repairs?

We service and repairs Streedogs from our Hq in Hamilton, or we come directly to you during our roadshows or events. Should you require our services outside our immediate coverage area, we have established partnerships with a network of service providers that extend across most of New Zealand. Get in touch at Servicing@ftnmotion.com.

How big is the storage?

The Streetdog has 30L of integrated, lockable storage.

To get an idea of what that means, 30L can store 6 six-packs of beer, and it's bigger than the backpack you probably carry around the city.

Unfortunately, you can't fit your helmet in there but we're working on some other genius ideas.

Catch Michel below to see exactly what 30L will fit:

Will you be releasing a faster Streetdog anytime soon?

Have you heard about the Streetdog 80? We are currently developing a faster Streetdog and it will be released later in the year.

We'll continue to offer our original moped class Streetdog (50 km/hr top speed) aside the new Streetdog 80 ( 80km /hr top speed) from Q4 this 2024. We have plans for faster bikes in the future, but for now our focus is on these two Dogs.

Getting your hands on a Streetdog

How can I get my hands on a Streetdog ?

You can order your Streetdog or a Streetdog 80 through our website. We release a few production runs - with a limited number of bikes per run - during the year.

You can reserve a Streetdog with $100 fully refundable deposit. A few months before expected delivery, we'll ask you to pay the remaining balance and confirm your colour combo.

What happens to my deposit?

If you pay a deposit and reserve a Streetdog or a Streetdog 80 in the next production run, we'll hold onto your deposit until the time comes to pay the remaining balance (a few months before delivery). We will subtract the $100 deposit from the total amount plus delivery and registration costs.

Your deposit is fully refundable up until the moment the rest of the balance becomes due, so you can always get in touch if you've changed your mind. However, that does mean you will lose the reservation of your Streetdog and might potentially miss out on the chance to get your hands on a bike in the next production run.

Can I get a Streetdog if I'm not in New Zealand or Australia?

If you pay a deposit and reserve a Streetdog or a Streetdog 80 in the next production run, we'll hold onto your deposit until the time comes to At the moment, we only produce and ship bikes to customers based in New Zealand and Australia but we do have plans to conquer Europe in the near future.

Why do you restrict the number of bikes in a production run?

Our team assembles each and every bike at our HQ in Hamilton . This makes building a Streetdog a work of craftsmanship, which takes time, effort and a sweat bead or two. To ensure that each bike that hits the road is the best it can be, we've decided to limit the number of bikes we produce each year.

What is the Streetdog owners' community?

Order your Streetdog with a fully refundable $100 deposit and you'll bag a spot in our exclusive owners' community. And being a Streetdog owner-to-be comes with a few great perks:

  • Get access to a closed Facebook group, where we'll post behind-the-scenes content, videos and updates
  • Receive a limited edition FTN t-shirt and other merch
  • Get the latest news from the workshop straight in your inbox on a monthly basis, so you're always up-to-date on our progress
  • Whenever we hit the road with an original Streetdog Roadshow, you're guaranteed a test ride spot
  • If you're ever in Hamilton, NZ drop by our HQ anytime for a personal tour of the workshop and a test ride on our latest Streetdog model
  • We organise some pretty snazzy BBQ's and get-togethers once in a while, for which you'll receive a personal invite
  • We regularly host Pack Rides and participate in events like Distinguished Gentleman's Ride which are popular with our community

Who do I turn to if I have a question?
